Banger! In "...start generating initial traffic to those pages from your own user base..." other than cross-linking to specific authentic how-to-s is there a value in creating separate 'category' description pages that aggregates new authentic content in some way?
Hoping someone can help me out with this, as a non-expert in SEO…
1. How does UGC impact SEO? What’s the mechanism of action?
2. Any ideas for my junk removal company? My first thought is for new customers to create a before/after (photo or video) of their removal, which could be automatically shown on our website. Incentive could be a gift card or something.
Thanks for sharing, this is so valuable! I’ve been looking for more insights on building a solid and sustainable UGC program, so I’m excited to dive into your next piece. Can’t wait to learn more about the strategies and metrics you’ll be covering.
This is awesome. I think UGC is honestly the future for most marketing moving forward. It’s the fastest transfer of trust, and is the best at integrating into buyer priorities, not interrupting them.
Great insight, Elena. Two thoughts here from my side:
#1 - Clay is another company that has done a fantastic job of building out a template / UGC strategy. I know their approach has been very much informed by Notion's strategy.
#2 - While UGC enables you to create vast amounts of content at scale and leverage your existing user-base, do you have any thoughts on how best to direct or optimize UGC content so that it's more likely to rank for your most desired search terms? I would imagine a UGC strategy left completely unchecked might make it hard to compete with a company like Hubspot that has a massive content team crafting tons and tons of content specifically around long-tail keywords.
